Power of the Fae Page 15

Calm down, we need them. Please.

I look over to Colin and I’m not sure he got the message until his eyes widen and he looks at me for a second and nods. He seems to relax a little.

“Apparently you know what we are here for and more. Care to elaborate?” Keegan asks getting Dorian’s attention.

“Melomouzor has collected descendants of the ten Ancients and will come back to the human realm. He’s probably collected the blood he needs for the ritual to bring him back. From what I hear, back in the day, he loved to do experimentation. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s experimenting on the missing supers.” He points to me. “She’s the key to the prophecy, we just don’t know which one.” He shifts on the couch.

“How do you know about the prophecy since I only just learned about it myself?” I ask.

“There is not much I don’t know. You don’t get to be my age and not know what’s going on around you. I make it my business to know what’s going on around me. That’s how I’ve been able to survive all of these years and plan to continue to survive. Now, what you probably want to know is that your mother came to me a few months before she was killed.” I look to Keegan and his face is tight with his jaw muscle jumping.

“Why did my mother come to you?” I ask. What could she have possibly needed from him?

“Please come sit next to me.” He pats the couch next to him. Somehow I feel that he won’t hurt me. The amulet warms again, letting me know it will be okay. I stand from the chair and Colin growls.

“Don’t worry wolf, I won’t bite your lover.” He then smiles at me, glancing at my exposed neck.

“Unless, that is, she asks me to.”

I shoot Colin a look trying to tell him to calm down. I sit next to Dorian and he takes my hand and brings my wrist up this nose and takes a deep breath, inhaling with his eyes closed. My heart flutters at our closeness. His power is like an aphrodisiac, it washes over me and I want to bottle it up and take it with me. He opens his ice blue eyes and looks deep into mine. Colin and Keegan have not taken their eyes off of me and both of their bodies are tense, ready to jump if they need to help me.

“Loredana was right, you are the one. You don’t even realize how powerful you are, little one. Your blood is so sweet smelling, like apricots.” He releases my hand.

“Your mother came to me because she said that you were gaining all of the powers of the Fae and she needed help hiding those powers. What happened when you touched the amulet?” he asks.

“It was like I was being electrocuted. I felt like power was entering my body and spreading.” He nods.

“It unlocked everything that your mother suppressed,” he says reaching for the amulet. Colin growls again when Dorian’s hand brushes against my breast to pick up the amulet.

“You need to control your wolf, little one,” Dorian says softly knowing Colin can hear him. Keegan stands and whispers something in Colin’s ear, they share a look and he turns back to Dorian and me.

  What was that?

  “I don’t control him,” I say sharply.

  “You should.”

“Why did our mother come to you?” Keegan cuts in while sitting back down.

“She needed Zelphire’s amulet and I happened to be the one to know where it was and was able to obtain it for her.”

“How would you know where a Fae artifact would be hidden?” Keegan asks.

Colin is quiet. I look over at him and he hasn’t taken his eyes off of Dorian or me. The vampires behind him keep a small distance, but their eyes are on him. I try to catch his eye to let him know I’m okay, but he’s staring at Dorian.

“And what price did my mother pay you for this favor?” Keegan spits out glaring at Dorian.

“Let’s just say, I owed your mother two favors and she collected on one of those favors.” Keegan and I look at each other in shock. What did our mother do for him that would give her two favors to call in for the Master Vampire?

“What did my mother do for you to be in debt to her?” I ask.

“That’s a conversation for another day.”

“Will you help us fight against Melomouzor and keep him from destroying this realm?” I ask quietly. Dorian turns his eyes back to me. His ice blue eye hold mine for a brief moment.

  “Yes,” he answers without hesitating.

“Why?” Colin asks. “Why would you help us?”

“I’m not helping you, wolf. I’m helping the Vampire race. Vampires have been around for well over a millennium and I mean to see that we continue to exist. Whatever I have to do to make that happen, I will do it. And there is nothing that will stop me from protecting my own!” he says with his eyes narrowed at Colin and fangs lengthening again.

I can feel his anger radiating and his two vampires become tense as if ready to strike. I could take a knife and cut the air, the tension is so thick. Colin makes to move as Keegan stands up quickly. That’s it! I jump in between all of them; they are all going to kill each other!

“Stop!” I yell putting my hands up. Men! My power explodes from me, freezing them all in one place. I breathe deeply as I look around at them.

“We need to work together. Fighting will not help us beat Melomouzor. We defeat him, then you all can beat the hell out of each other, but the human realm is depending on us working together!” I yell, glaring at all of them.

“Let me go, little one!” Dorian says between clenched teeth, unable to move off the couch.

“Not until you all calm down!” I growl, looking at each one of them in the room.

Colin, Keegan and both vampires cannot move. Keegan is glaring at me while Colin is shooting daggers at Dorian with his eyes. There is just too much testosterone and Alpha males in the room. Dorian throws his head back and lets out a deep laugh.

“I like you, little one. You are the first person to challenge me in centuries. I can’t even remember when someone has been able to best me. Let me know when you’re done playing with the wolf!”

“We need to work together,” I stress, ignoring Dorian’s lust-filled stare and comment.

“Anything you want, little one, you just have to ask,” Dorian says staring into my eyes as I release them.

  Chapter Twenty-One

  ~Colin~

I want to kill that damn Vampire, Dorian. I want to rip his fucking head off for the way he looked at Lina. Her dress left little to the imagination. I loved it, but so did every guy in the club. Every time Dorian looked at her, I could tell he was undressing her with his fucking eyes. But I can’t kill him now since we apparently need him. The only thing that made me feel better was Keegan whispering to me that Dorian will be mine once we defeat Melomouzor. I’m starting to like Keegan. My wolf is pacing, itching to break free. I need to go for a run tonight to let my wolf run loose.

I grab Lina’s hand as we run up the stairs of the club to go back to the main level. She’s coming home with me tonight, whether she wants to or not. She cannot wear that dress and fuck-me heels and think she’s not getting fucked tonight. As we move through the club, the smell of sulfa hits my nostrils.

  Shit!

I stop suddenly causing Lina to run into my back. Reed, Alec and Devyn surround us. They pick up on the smell too. The club is packed and it’s hard to see around the smoke-filled club.

Do you smell that? I ask across our bond since the music is so loud.

They all nod their heads. We brought reinforcements to the club. Gunnar, Reshia, Ian and Malachy are positioned inside the club on the first floor, blending in with the club goers. Brodie, Kaven and Shawn were to stay outside and cover the club from the outside. The one thing that Keegan and I agree upon is Lina’s safety. The demons want to come out and play tonight, then we’ll play.

“What is it?” Keegan says sensing something is wrong.

“Demons,“ I say. His body becomes tense as he quickly looks around the club. He motions to Vander and Tarron.

“Let’s move out!” I command pulling Lina toward the door
. Just as we get a few feet from the door, someone screams and there is a large crash near the bar. Out of nowhere a demon appears. People panic and begin running toward the exits.

Where the fuck did it come from?

I turn and see Vander in combat with a demon. To the right Ian is fighting a dark-skinned demon. These demons are not even trying to glamor themselves to blend in.

  What the fuck!

That means they are getting desperate and don’t care who sees their true forms.

“Get her out of here!” Keegan yells as a demon comes at him. Devyn, Alec and Reed push their way through the crowd and chaos, making room for Lina and me to run to the door. As we rush to the front door, I feel Lina’s hand slip from mine. I turn to grab her but a demon has her. The demon has brown skin, slits where his nose should be and red eyes. She screams as he yanks her by her hair. She turns and throws a punch but he catches her hand. He grabs her by the neck and turns her around so that she is shielding his body as I rush in their direction.

  My mate!

My wolf growls as I push the panicking people out of the way, trying to get to Lina and the demon. I see Dorian come up the stairs barking orders at his Vampires as more demons appear in the club. Demons rush him. Dorian is flawless in his counter-attack, punching through one demon’s chest and yanking out its heart as he bites another and rips its throat out. As I reach Lina, her eyes roll into the back of her head, the demon who is holding her combusts in flames, dropping to the floor screaming as he burns alive.

“Are you okay?” I yell as I drag her towards the door.

“Yes! Get me the hell up out of here!” she yells, running behind me, keeping up with me in her high heels.

I shift my free hand into my wolf claws as another demon comes at us. I roar as I swipe at his neck, severing his head almost completely off. We continue to run towards the front door as his body hits the ground. We run out the front door. Brodie pulls up one of the trucks and we jump in the back of the truck.

As we speed off, I look back and it looks like Hell had let loose! The Guardian and Legion members were fighting demons on the streets and the Vampires had joined in the fight. For the first time tonight, everyone was working together.

  * * *

We arrive at the compound in record time. There is no way Lina is leaving my sight tonight. I almost lost her tonight. That demon could have dragged her to that portal they were using to get into the club and disappeared. That must have been how the victims were snatched. Somehow Melomouzor has been able to create portals for his demons, which means either Witches or Fae or both are helping him.

Lina is on the phone with Keegan as we walk through the front door of the house. I lead her to my office with Brodie behind her. So far, everyone has made it out of the club with only minor scratches and bruises. She is reassuring him that she is fine and that we just got to the compound.

“When I’m ready to come home, you don’t have to send anyone to come get me. I can just flash to Grandmother’s. It will be safest and only take me a few minutes. I’ll call you before I do so that you’ll know when to expect me.” She pauses and listens.

“We’ll talk about that when I get there.” She pauses again and plops down on the couch. “I know Keegan. You don’t have to tell me that!” She pauses again, rolling her eyes. “I know. I love you too, big brother. Bye.” She hangs up her phone, reaches down into her high-heeled boots and takes a dagger out of each boot before she takes her shoes off. I raise an eyebrow at her.

“What?” she says looking at me confused while she leans back on the couch.

“I just wasn’t expecting two blades to come out of those shoes,” I say holding my hands up.

“Me either!” Brodie says shaking his head, sitting in one of the high-back chairs. .

I sit down behind my desk dialing Devyn’s cell phone. He answers on the first ring. “How far away are you?”

“About fifteen minutes. Everything okay with you?”

“Yeah, I figured we could go for a run really quick when everyone gets back.”

“Sounds good, I’m sure everyone will want to go. It’s been a while since we had a pack run.” I hear Alec grumble in the background.

  “What did he say?”

  “Nothing worth repeating.” Devyn chuckles.

“See ya in ten!” He hangs up.

I look over to Lina. She’s curled up on the couch with her feet underneath her. There’s a knock on the door.

“Come in!” I’m not sure who else is up at this hour. Malia pokes her head in the door. She just will not stay away. I’m not even surprised that she’s at the door. She was probably keeping watch, waiting for us to return.

“I saw your office light on and just wanted to know if you needed anything?” she says looking directly at me. I notice that Lina is looking from Malia to me.

“Is there something that you need, Colin?” Lina asks sarcastically, tilting her head to the side. Malia jumps not seeing Lina sitting on the couch. A flash of anger quickly appears on Malia’s face. It disappears just as quickly.

“No, we’re fine. We’re waiting for the rest of the Legion members to get here so we can go for a run.” I lean back in my chair and I can’t help the sigh that escapes.

“Oh, great! I was just saying I wanted to go for a run and I didn’t want to go by myself! I’ll meet you all out back in a few!” Malia grins and walks out of the room.

“Really?” Lina directs her gaze to me and crosses her arms.

“On that note, I’ll step out and give you guys some privacy!” Brodie rushes out of the room closing the door silently.

“So,” Lina starts and stands up, walking towards my desk. “When you hesitate to commit or label what we have, is she the reason why?” She crosses her arms across her chest. My little Princess is jealous. The scowl that marks her face is adorable.

“No, she’s the past. She’s just something that was to pass time. I never made any promises to her. She’s not the reason at all. Maybe someday we’ll have time to talk about things.” I stand up and move in front of her and rub her shoulders.

  “I have time now.”

“The guys should be here in a few and they’ve probably spread the word about a pack run. The members of the pack love going out together on late runs.”

“Colin, I don’t think Malia truly understands that what the two of you had is over. I know that look on her face. She’s pissed that I’m here. She wants you.” She looks up at me with her big beautiful emerald eyes.

“Lina, you’re all that I think about. I want to possess your mind, body and soul. It’s you who drives me crazy. Even just the smell of you gets me hard. I go crazy when we are not together. Tonight, I would have burned that fucking club down with everyone in it, just to get to you when that demon had you. My wolf craves you. He has never wanted anyone as bad as he wants you. I can’t stop thinking about sliding into your wet pussy. Every chance I get I want you. I mean every word. I have never desired, wanted or craved a woman the way I have with you. I haven’t even thought of Malia or any other women since meeting you.”

  “Will you speak with her?”

  “Yes, of course I will.”

“Because if I have to, it won’t be pretty, Colin. I don’t share. Either you’re with me, or her!” Her voice is as hard as steel and her eyes blaze with emotion.

I can’t help but pull her close to crush my mouth to hers while pushing her back against the desk. Her tongue duels with mine. She bites my lip gently and I can’t help the growl that comes out. I run my hand under her dress feeling her perfect body, finding the thong that she has on. I rip it off with such a force that she can’t help but know that I want to fuck her.

Tonight, it could have been her that disappeared. My wolf growls at the thought of losing her when we only just found her. My grip tightens on her as I trail kisses down her neck, licking and sucking, pausing to pay attention to her breasts. Her nipples are straining through her dress. I just can’t get e
nough of her. I absolutely love the taste of her. My canines have already descended and I scrape them across her hard nipples that are poking out through her dress.

She breaks away from me, with a teasing glint in her eye and a small smile on her perfect lips. She jumps up on the desk spreading her legs open causing her dress to rise up where I can see her bare pussy lips. My body automatically follows her. At this point, I would follow her anywhere. I run my finger across her slick folds, teasing her, feeling how wet and ready she is. She leans back on the desk with a cocky smile on her face as she spread her legs completely exposing herself to me, dipping her own finger in her opening while her eyes follow me as I kneel in front of the desk.

I grab her hand and suck her fingers clean. The smell of her arousal hits me and I have to taste her, licking her from back to front. Paying close attention to her nub, circling the sensitive flesh with my tongue then sucking it. She lets out a throaty moan as she takes her own breasts out of her dress, rubbing on them while thrusting her pussy in my face. This woman is perfect for me.

How could she even think that I would want anyone else? I suck on her clit even harder and insert one finger in her dark moist channel, pumping it in and out mimicking her rhythm that she set. I add another finger, stretching her, making sure she is ready for me. Another moan escapes her again, this time deep from her soul as she grabs my hair pushing my face into her pussy.

“Your pussy is so addicting,” I mutter as I dip my tongue into her core. I can’t help but to lick and suck all of the wetness that is seeping out of her. I push her legs open wider so I can get all of her pussy and not miss one drop.

“Colin...” she mumbles incoherently, thrusting her hips.

“What do you want, babe?” Needing to hear her voice her needs, I switch from sucking her clit to flicking it with my tongue while she rides my fingers then rotating between sucking and flicking her clit. Her response is incoherent, as she gasps, her body tenses and I don’t let her go. She bucks and moans my name as she climaxes and her pussy gushes her sweet juices while I lap up every drop.
